Tennis is the foundation of the Cranford Sports Club. Why not join one of our active and friendly groups in enhance your tennis skills.

Tiny Tots 2-4yrs

45 minute Lesson. Development of ABC’s, Agility, Balance and Co-ordination. Introduction to racket development in a Fun and Safe environment.

Mini Red 4-8yrs

An Introduction to tennis including co-ordination, movement skills, rallying, playing the game and above all to build confidence and have more fun. Split into 2 age groups 4-6, 6-8yrs. Second session is more technical.

Mini Activities 6-12yrs

Red, Orange and Green ball. Range of games and activities for any mini player keen to do more!

Mini Orange 8-10yrs

Skills and Drills, Physical development, technical and tactical coaching, and play more matches.

Mini Green 10-12yrs

Skills and Drills, Physical development, technical and tactical coaching, matches. Encourages children to be more independent, understand about warming up, practising, fitness and health.

Matchplay Ladder

Green ball and full ball tactical development and matchplay. Results recorded and players move up and down ongoing ladder.

Juniors 12+

Skills and Drills, Physical development, technical and tactical coaching and SAQ training. Players hoping to be selected to represent the Cranford in Summer leagues must attend when possible.

Invitational Programme

Squads run for players showing particular level of enthusiasm and ability. Players must be invited onto this programme.

Senior Mens

Gentlemen who play a gentle, chivalrous and social game.

Adult Beginners

New players are given help in developing the basic shape of shots and knowledge of the game. Players progress to Club night, Doubles Drills, Ladies and improvers at the coaches discretion.

Doubles Play & Matchplay (Minimum of three players)

The session is split into 2, the first half works on doubles drills, formations, tactics and practices, while the second half concentrates on putting the days theme into competitive play.

Adult Improvers

Gain technical and tactical coaching in the 1hr session. One step on from Adult beginners, why not combine with Double Drills for more rapid development?

Club Play

Members meet and arrange games. Coach to host evening club play and join in if odd numbers and offer tactical advice.

Ladies Morning

1hr of skills, drills and practices covering a range of technical and tactical aspects, followed by 1hr of match-play. (players must arrive prior to 10am). Coffee included.

Teams

The Cranford Sports Club enters teams in the East Devon Junior Leagues. The Club also enters Ladies and Men’s teams in the Exeter & District Tennis League and Mixed teams in the East Devon League. Any player new to the club who is interested in playing should contact any of the coaches
